Turkey

So I realize that many of you have not been to Turkey. With my mom just coming it was interesting to see what she found interesting and unique about this country. It was fun to see what she wanted to take pictures of to show others how we lived. So I though I would share some of those pictures to give you and idea at some of the unique aspects of this country and our life here.
Here are some pictures of how we shop in outside markets for anything from clothes, kitchen stuff, fruits and veggies, and we even buy nuts out of the back of a car. One of the most famous Turkish foods is the doner which is a sandwich made our of shaved pieces of chicken or lamb which is shown in the first picture. Turkey is also know for it's great bread...the most well known is the simit which is a bread in a circle with sesame seeds, which is sold by a man who piles them on his head and walks around town. Families here love to spend time together especially outside. Most families go sit in the parks and have picnics on Saturdays. This is a great county with many unique and amazing things and these are only a few. So come to see us and we will show you tons more!!! We are waiting!!!
